Didn't match my screen. Incorrect instructions. Too technical. Not enough information. Not enough pictures. Any additional feedback? Submit feedback. Thank you for your feedback! It required ejecting the SD card and retrying.

Surface Laptop 2 completed the install. I then checked Windows Update. Restart and W10 SP5 finished, restarted and had W10 On a Surface Pro 3, it wasn't showing up via updates.

Decided to go through "Update Assistant". Put in a microSD card, it show up in File Explorer, but then quickly become not accessible. Checked for updates, some more came down, but non corrected the issue. Sadly, I had to roll back. Lol, Update Assistant doesn't work in S Mode. My Surface Go stuck with I am afraid the October update fiasco has frightened Microsoft and forced them to be over cautious for this May update I guess you have to strip your pc out of all peripherals and external devices in order to have an error-free update!

Seems that way. I tried to manually update our HP desktop in the living room using the upgrade assistant Windows update shows no updates available. It went through the process of downloading the update and everything only to tell me that it won't let me update that PC to because it has an external USB hard drive attached. It told me there is some kind of potential issue with the update process for and external hard drives that could cause an issue. It told me MS is aware of this and that as soon as they fix this problem and consider it safe that the PC will automatically get Seems pretty crazy to me that any PC with any external media plugged into it including flash drives which it mentioned specifically as well even though I did not have one plugged in is flagged to not get the update.

Previously, this required using the Control Panel. This replaces the previous individual icons for Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cellular data connections. Windows now has a microphone status icon, too. This icon appears in your notification when an application is using your microphone. You can mouse over it to see which application is using your mic. It shows you more information about detected threats and available actions.

For example, in addition to threats detected by the Windows Defender antivirus, it also shows you blocks initiated by Controlled Folder Access. When enabled, this setting protects important security settings.

For example, it limits changes to many of the options controlled by the Windows Security app unless you open the app and make the changes. This prevents programs from changing them in the background. You can set a default tab in the Task Manager. This tab will open whenever you launch the Task Manager. The Task Manager now displays the high DPI awareness of the processes on your system, so you can see more information about which applications will work properly with high DPI displays.

This will help fix blurry applications on high DPI displays. This was added to Windows 10 back in the April Update , but Microsoft left it disabled by default to be conservative. For example, the Sleep, Shut Down, and Restart options in the menu now have icons.

All available sign-in options are now in a single list, and each option has an explanation under it. You can also now set up Windows Hello to work with a physical security key like a YubiKey directly from the Settings app. The touch keyboard now lets you input more symbols. These symbols are integrated into the emoji picker, too.

That same touch keyboard now helps you type more accurately by dynamically adjusting the targets around each key. This happens invisibly, under the hood. Windows now lets you choose a cursor color and size. You can make the cursor larger and change its color, making it easier to see. There are always tons of new changes in these Windows 10 builds. But here are a few more:.

Other new features include support for additional languages throughout the operating system. Windows now also contains an Ebrima font that supports ADLaM documents and web pages, which is the language of the Fulani people, who predominantly live in West Africa.

These were enabled by default. It may return in a future Windows 10 update. This feature appears removed from the final builds—but, as always, it may return in the future. Microsoft is no longer squeezing Cortana and Windows Search into a single feature.

They're now accessed separately, and have different settings. Spotify is now embedded within the Microsoft Game Bar. You can now access your Spotify library without having to exit your game. Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions only are getting a built-in virtualization platform with a new Windows Sandbox. It's an easy way to instantly create a virtual machine, distinct from your main PC, so you can test a program or visit a risky website, worry-free.

Microsoft first released this to testers in April, giving the company plenty of time to work on any issues. Now, the official release is rolling out to all existing Windows 10 users. Here's how to get the update:.
